About Sarah McAdams

Certified Doula

Hi! My name is Sarah and I grew up in the beautiful, small town of South Lake Tahoe, California. Growing up in the mountains gave me an appreciation and love for nature. Because of this, I spend a lot of my free time enjoying activities such as gardening, hiking and playing with my standard poodle, Spencer. I first learned about what a doula was in my senior year of high school when I volunteered in a labor and delivery unit. This was a life changing experience for me! I am on my path to a nursing degree since I have always been drawn to labor and delivery and saw becoming a certified Doula as a wonderful addition to my nursing training. For me, it's always been clear that my passion is caring for others. One of the most important things to me are my relationships with the people in my life. Being able to support a family’s experience of bringing new life into the world is something I am truly blessed to be a part of!  Supporting my niece’s arrival and my sister becoming a mom is one of my most treasured memories and guides me in wanting to support other families in their journey.  I completed my doula certification through the International Doula Institute.  I am first aid and CPR trained.  I believe that new life is a gift and I enjoy opportunities to join with a variety of families with diverse backgrounds, experiences, personal values, orientations, and beliefs.

I am so glad that I had Sarah’s support at the birth of my baby! She had the most amazing bedside manner from the moment she arrived in the room till the moment she left, with kind words of encouragement and reassurance. Thanks to her I was able to have a wonderful unmedicated birth experience!
